After drifting slightly in the stretch, Century Plaza's young colt Ruffy Joe (Gilded Time) went on to take Saturday's $50,000 CTHS Sale Stakes for colts and geldings. Peter Redekop's Alberta Breeze (Gilded Time) finished well for the place, just one length back of the winner and 7.5 lengths ahead of Dr. Lois Philp's third place Simon Templar (Tempered Appeal) who closed five-wide at odds of 13-1. Bred and sold by Tod Mtn. Thoroughbreds, the winner is trained by Carl Lausten and was ridden by Antonio Reyees. The final time was 1:45.05 and the winning payoff was $6.40.
