Grade 1 winner Jersey Town has moved from Darby Dan Farm in Kentucky to Road’s End Farm, near Abbotsford, British Columbia.
The 11-year-old son of Speightstown out of multiple Grade 1 winner Jersey Girl will stand the 2018 breeding season as the property of Charles Fipke for a fee of $2,000,
Canadian funds. “We are very excited about bringing a horse of Jersey Town’s calibre to British Columbia,” comments Road’s End Farm owner Jack Bennett. “He should make a major contribution to the breeding industry in the Pacific Northwest.”

A multiple grades stakes winner of $819,668, the Fipke homebred finished first, second or third in 17 of 21 starts, and won or placed in nine graded stakes while defeating ten Grade 1 winners. He earned a 111 Beyer while defeating four G1 winners in his Cigar Mile H. [G1] victory; defeated Preakness S. [G1] winner Shackleford and G1 winners To Honor and Serve and Tapizar in the Kelso H. [G2] at Belmont Park; and twice placed in the Forego H. [G1] at Saratoga.
"Mr Fipke has foals by Jersey Town from some top mares still to come and will be supporting the horse
in British Columbia as well, so Jersey Town represents a great opportunity for breeders to participate in
a stallion with a lot of future upside," said Sid Fernando, president of Werk Thoroughbred Consultants,
Inc., and an advisor to Fipke.

Jersey Town’s first foals are 3-year-olds of 2017, and he has already sired earners of more than $1
million in 2017, with three stakes horses and nine winners to date from his current crop of 2-year-olds.
His 2017 stakes horses include 2-year-old Jersey Justice, winner of the $100,000 Hillsdale S. on
September 13 and the $100,000 Indiana Futurity on October 26, and classic-placed Bee Jersey, front-
running 3-length Keeneland maiden special-weight winner and second in the $250,000 UAE Two
Thousand Guineas [G3] . His sales yearlings have averaged more than $41,000 with individuals for up to
$500,000, with 2-year-olds averaging over $55,000 and individuals selling for up to $250,000.

NOT BOURBON PASSES

Not Bourbon (Not Impossible – Bourbon Belle) passed away on December 28, 2025, at the age of 20. Bred and owned by Charles Fipke and trained by Roger Attfield, Not Bourbon was an exceptional racehorse whose accomplishments earned him a place in Canadian racing history. During his career on the track, Not Bourbon captured some of the nation’s most prestigious races, including the Queen’s Plate, Plate Trial, Queenston Stakes, and Overskate Stakes. As a two-year-old, he showed early promise by winning the Bull Page Stakes and setting a track record for six furlongs at Woodbine. Over the course of three racing seasons, Not Bourbon earned more than one million dollars, and his outstanding three-year-old campaign was recognized with a Sovereign Award. Retired to stud, Not Bourbon went on to become a champion sire in Ontario, further cementing his legacy in the breeding shed. In 2020, he relocated to British Columbia, standing his first season at Emerald Acres in Aldergrove, before moving to Flying Horse Farm in West Kelowna, where he continued to make a meaningful contribution to the provincial breeding industry. Not Bourbon will be remembered for his talent as a racehorse and his contributions to breeding in both Ontario and British Columbia.
